What’s new in SlowBird

Every version, newest first. SlowBird tells you when there’s an update, and updates are free.

Change the selection while it plays and you hear the new one straight away: move its start, or slide it, and playback starts again from the new start.
Move only its end and playback carries on, now stopping at the new end. Pull the end back behind the playhead and it goes back to the start, instead of running on to the end of the track.
Space stops and goes back to the start of the selection you just changed, not wherever you last pressed play.
The update window now lists what's new.

When a link won't import, SlowBird says why, and you can send a report in one click.
Pasting links that need an extra helper now fetches it for you.

Paste a link to import from the web: direct downloads, yt-dlp if you have it, or record it as it plays.
Videos keep their picture: it plays over the waveform, in sync (V shows and hides it).

Follows your system's output device when you change it.
The notes viewer can arrange notes by year, and a note's menu can edit its track's info.
Drawing a new selection makes it the place Space comes back to.

The notes viewer: every saved note in your library as a card on one canvas, arranged by tag, soloist, track, name or colour.
Notes can carry tags, several per note, and search finds them.

Record whatever your computer is playing straight into the library (macOS 14.4+). A take starts on the first note.
Ignore Silence at Start/End, in the waveform's right-click menu.

SlowBird tells you when there's a new version, and About has a tick box to check automatically.

Reaching the end of a track goes back to its start, paused.
G groups the tracks you've selected, and the Mac's play/pause key works in the background.
